How does it work

VisualDRG v5 is a Web application for interactive DRG grouping and analyzing DRG grouping results. Using VisualDRG Web you can enter the encounter information for the grouper, browse and search diagnosis and procedure codes and see how they affect the grouping.

Grouping encounter records with VisualDRG Web is done in the following way:

1. Enter data (diagnoses, procedures and other information).
2. Grouping is done automatically after each change.
3. Check the DRG grouping results.

Functionality

The software product includes the following functionalities:

• DRG grouping based on an encounter record
• Support for multiple NordDRG grouper versions (from different years)
• Additional (grouper version based) information: DRG weights, outlier limits etc.
• Status information: which part of the information had affected the DRG
• Text and code based search functions for diagnosis and procedure codes
• DRG logic rules browsing
• Complications and comorbidities analysis so that one can find in DG and PR find the codes that make the case complicated

User Roles

The software product includes the following user roles:

• User; can use all features depending on edition, but some write and update functions and organization management cannot be used. (Användare, käyttäjä)
• Organization Admin; can use all user features, and additional edit/add features such as own weight tables depending on edition, and manage own organization users and organization specific settings, others than maximum user and capacity settings. (Kundadministratör, Organisaation pääkäyttäjä)
• System Admin; can use all features unlimited, can manage all organizations, can use admin functions such as DRG versions management, can "log in as user" from any organization. (Systemadministratör, Järjestelmänvalvoja)
